I have several new blogs to publish as I have time, including our most recent getaway. I'm working on it but all of this takes too much of my time. Christian turns 7 years old tomorrow so I'll have birthday pictures from that as well.
Our Daddy Has the COOLEST Job!

Dad got to visit the inside of one of the big hangars while away from home on a training assignment.

Dad got to watch the engine being changed out while he was at work recently. These boys love to go visit the airport and only wish they could get as close as Dad does to these big planes.

Flashback to August 2007

Upper Peninsula Day Trip

We drove up to Mackinac City for the day. We did not go out to the island but we checked out the area and headed North to Tahquamenon Falls. I know I blogged on the falls back then. I think Steve's picture of that 5 mile long Mackinac Bridge is great. That bridge creeps me out a bit but I enjoyed riding over it. The last time I was in Mackinac was when I was about 10 years old. My dad came to visit me and we spent a weekend up there - I loved it and have many special memories from that trip. We hope to do a camping trip up there in the next year or so.

Gabey is wearing Lily's temporary water dish as a hat.
Matthew is such a cry baby... here's a picture from one of his typical meltdowns. I'm guessing he is crying because Gabey has the water dish hat, or something equally as trivial.

Flashback to August 2007

We drove up to the Traverse City area and Steve took us out to the Leelanau Peninsula. We had a great time exploring the old lighthouse and playing on the shore. On our way home we stopped by a real Old General Store - just like I've always imagined them to be. Leelanau is wine country and sometime it would be nice to do a B&B up there, just Steve and I. We drove by many wineries and the whole area was just so quiet and romantic... someday *sigh*

We visited Old Mission Church as well. It was an interesting building with good history about the area.

Flashback to August of 2007. These are more pictures I found on Steve's memory card. Some of you must be wondering why I'm posting old pictures, well... I just like them and want to share them. Also though, because I am using my blog as a way to save my pictures. I have all these scrapbooks made but if something ever happened to them at least I'd have this blog. Also, when I'm stuck as to when something happened, it is nice to be able to cross reference with the pictures on here.

This is our last camping trip to Mitchell of 2007. On this trip we ventured up to the UP and to the Traverse City area.

We decided to explore a nature center in Cadillac. We enjoyed hiking through the trails, looking for a sassafrass plant, frogs and other fun things.

We reached an old lookout platform of some sort at the end of a trail. It didn't really seem to look out onto much of anything so I'd have enjoyed hearing why it was built in the first place. Still, we had fun. Here the boys are on the top deck.
Back at camp the boys love playing in the beach. I like sitting on the beach - that lake is much too cold for me. This was another perfect day at Mitchell State Park - no one around but us. We haven't camped at Mitchell at all this summer.

This is just a picture of Gabe hanging out in the camper. I know it is not anything special but he is just so cute to me.
Backtrack to Fall of 2007

About 6 weeks ago I lost the battery charger for my camera. I use the term "I" loosely as really, I blame it on the boys. Specifically, I'm throwing Nicolas under the bus on this one. He was asked to put it on my desk and somehow it disappeared along the way. I refuse to replace it knowing that the moment I do the old one will turn up. It would be for this reason that I've failed to update with summer photos - and why we've been to the beach 3 times, a pool party (a first for us) and have been on vacation with not a picture to show for it.

Anyhow, this week I was in need of a camera so I convinced my sweet love to let me use his. We just got home from a mini-vacation that wasn't really a vacation at all. More on that later - or above by the time you get to reading this. Anyhow, we were away and when getting home to post my pictures I found a ton of pictures on Steve's memory card that I have never seen. I wanted to share these with you. It is fun to see how my babes have changed. This is from a day last fall where dad took the boys to the park. I can not stand the park. I hate the park. I don't go to parks ever - if I can help it. However, my love is much more compassionate than I and he took the boys off to a local park so I could have some peace and quiet.

Christian loves these things. For fun he challenges himself to cross the beams in the basement without falling. He's pretty good at it but I think he fell soon after this picture was taken.
