A day at the farm

We love to visit our local farms. It feels so good to get away from the busyness of the city and explore a more natural setting. We love to learn about the differences in confinement farming vs. free range, pastured and organic farming I am also interested in learning more about sustainable living and our children are learning so much about how to be more "green". We are still hoping to move out of the city soon.

So much to do but the boys found this mud puddle to be a whole lot of fun. The pigs really loved the clover the kids were throwing at them.

Nicolas caught his first chicken after many attempts.

Matthew tried for a long time before finally catching his chicken - he was SO proud!
The boys check out what it is like inside the chicken coop. At this farm there are about 1500 chickens and they have tons of area to roam outside as well.
Nicolas finds a patch of trees to climb. He just loves to climb trees.

Just a picture of me - for my family who says I never take any.

After spending an afternoon at the farm we head to another local farm for their Harvest Festival. The boys especially enjoy the hayride into the pumpkin patch to pick their own pumpkins.
