Easter dinner at Grandma & Grandpa's house

Mom made her lamb cake again - we love that little cake. I made that little decorative egg next to it many years ago and I'm always so happy to see it survive another year. We had an excellent dinner and the best desserts!

my loves...

We were happy to have our friends and neighbors, Cara & Tristan, join us for Easter dinner.

my beautiful sister, Christine.

my stray hairs on gabe's head sort of taint a really cute picture :P

Auntie Christine takes watches the boys hunt the eggs she and Auntie Kimber hid for them.

My mom - isn't she so pretty :)

Tristan and Nicolas are best buddies.

Christian was having great success at finding eggs.

Gabey needed help finding his eggs but he managed to find a few on his own and he was very proud of that.

Easter Morning

Waking up to Easter baskets is always fun! Gabriel got a new bible and a little lamb in his basket. And, of course, all the baskets came with some candy :)

Matthew was very happy about his Spiderman placemat and his Bible cover. He also got a jump rope and a kaleidoscope.

Daddy got his favorite candy, Dots, and the book Family Driven Faith. Mom is excited to read that book when Dad is done.

Okay, I'm going out on a limb here by posting this just rolled out of bed picture... it could be worse :P I'm so happy about the books I got in my Easter basket!

Christian got the book The Three Trees and a kite and a jumprope and a gumball machine. He also got a bookmark for his Bible.
Nicolas is checking out his new pen. He really loves Eagles and he even got a scripture bookmark with an Eagle on it. He also got the book Good & Evil from a long distance Easter Bunny. He loves the book and has read much of it already. That's wonderful because it is difficult to get him reading much of the time and he's had his nose in that book quite a bit. He also got a comic book on the book of Genesis and a jump rope too.

Well, that was fun but no time to play - we had to get ready for church service :)

He is RISEN!
Happy Birthday Matthew

For Mattie's 5th birthday we went to Chuck E Cheese for lunch. I did my best to make a Spiderman cake for Mattie who IS Spiderman. Grandma came along as well and we had a nice time. After lunch we played at the play area in the mall and then had dinner out at The Texas Roadhouse. It was a fun and busy day.

Meet Nacho Butt

This snowman, named Nacho Butt, was made by Nicolas. I don't quite know why he is called Nacho Butt other than that the boys think it is a hilarious name and they are proud of how fat he is. See my sad little window that we've got to paint... the storm window on it broke so now we can actually access the outside of it to paint it but it needs a whole lot of work. And, there's not a good time to do it because my garden is right underneath. My sweet men are planning to tackle it in the early spring.
Nicolas was very patient in helping each of his brothers make their gingerbread men. From left to right... Nick's, Christian's, Matthew's and Gabriel's. Aren't they cute. Poor little gingerbread men got eaten right up!
Nicolas was very proud of his. Christian was adamant that his was much better than Matthew's because he put pants on his and Mattie has a "naked" gingerbread man and that is "very inappropriate". Oh, and the gumdrops in Christian's cookies hands are guns - he thought that also made his better. Funny kids - they make me laugh every day.

Merry Christmas

We had a wonderful time together at the Lodge - as usual. We love making time for this family vacation. It is so fun to get away but always good to come home too.
